About Hyundai Capital

Hyundai Capital Services is a leading global provider of consumer financing products such as auto financing, auto leasing services, personal loans and mortgages. Established in Seoul in 1993, the company is a financial services arm of Hyundai Motor Group, mainly promoting vehicle sales and providing best-in-class services for Hyundai, Kia and Genesis customers.

Hyundai Capital Services has been actively expanding its global business in the past several decades, propped up by its strategy of running joint ventures with local giants including Spain’s Santander and China’s Beijing Automotive Industry Holding to reduce risks and boost synergy. The company currently operates in 11 countries worldwide including the United States, Canada, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Germany and China.

Earlier in 2020, Hyundai Capital Bank Europe, German operation of Hyundai Capital Services, acquired Sixt Leasing, a subsidiary of German multinational car rental company Sixt SE. The deal is expected to serve as a stepping stone for Hyundai Motor Group’s smart mobility initiative for future growth.

As of the end of 2019, its overseas financial assets surpassed 50.8 trillion won. When combined with domestic assets, Hyundai Capital Services’ total assets totaled more than 80 trillion won.
