Korean Air Lines X Hyundai Card’s private label credit card (PLCC) was bestowed silver under the Branding category. PLCCs, similar to branded cards, are launched by credit card issuers offering benefits and rewards through various partnerships. The first its kind in Korea, the Korean Air Lines X Hyundai Card PLCC has received praise for its unique design and benefits focusing on airline customers. The Korean Air Line Hyundai Cards 030, 070, 150 have adopted a boarding pass, check-in luggage tag and airplane as motifs for card designs. The premium Korean Air Line credit card “the First” was designed after the window of an airplane with aurora colors to resemble the sunrise and sunset. All Korean Air Lines X Hyundai Cards come with a specifically designed package which includes a passport holder, travel diary and guidebook carrying on the travel theme.
Hyundai Card’s “MX BOOST” was awarded bronze for branding experience through diversified plate designs, branded merchandize and pop-up store. Twenty-one types of merchandising, ranging from balloons and gummy bears to high-end electronic goods were developed incorporating the 12 different MX BOOST card design plates. Earlier this year Hyundai Card ran a pop-up store at “Vinyl&Plastic” in the Itaewon area of Seoul, to connect consumers’ daily lives with the MX BOOST brand. Vinyl&Plastic is one of Hyundai Card’s cultural spaces, dedicated to rare vinyl albums and CDs.
Back in 2010 Hyundai Card was awarded gold in the environment category for its Seoul Station “Media Bus Shelter.” In 2019, Hyundai Card was a Featured Finalist for ‘”the Green” premium credit card. Early this year in April, Hyundai Card also swept triple awards at the prominent International Forum (iF) Design Award 2021.
